Accessibility Statement

The National Institute for the Social Security of the Self-employed (NISSE) focuses on accessibility in its digital communication. We are constantly improving our user experience and are applying the relevant accessibility standards accordingly.

The NISSE is doing its utmost to make his website accessible according to the law of 19 July 2018 regarding accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of government agencies.

This Accessibility Statement applies to www.nisse.be.

Measures to Improve Accessibility

We are taking a number of initiatives to enhance the accessibility of our website:

  • Accessibility is included in our communication strategy and in our guidelines.
  • We involve internal and external specialists.
  • Our colleagues have undergone training in accessibility standards and communication strategies.
  • We work with AnySurfer, a service organization for blind and partially sighted people in Flanders and Brussels.

Compliance Status

There are official standards and agreements that determine what web accessibility means. If you meet those standards, then anyone, with or without a disability, and in any context, can access your online information and services.

The reference in those standards is the WCAG or Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1. There are three levels at which these rules can be implemented: Level A, Level AA and Level AAA.

We are fully compliant with WCAG 2.1 level A and partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 level AA because some parts of our website are not fully compliant with these rules.

Non-accessible Content and alternatives

We are doing our utmost to make the entire website and all documents accessible to everyone. Nevertheless, we have not succeeded completely. A summary of persistent problems and possible solutions is provided below. If you still find something that is not accessible and is not indicated below, please let us know.

Currently the website contains the following non-accessible elements:

  • Contrast is currently not strong enough for all elements.
  • The header structure is not logically nested everywhere.

At this time, there is no alternative to the described non-accessible.

If you want to get more information about the non-accessible content, please send an e-mail to mailcom@rsvz-inasti.fgov.be.

Formal Endorsement of this Accessibility Statement

The accessibility of our website is checked via:

  • An audit conducted by AnySurfer, a service organization for blind and partially sighted people in Flanders and Brussels.
  • An audit conducted with BOSA Accessibility Check.
  • A critical analysis based on the W3C criteria.

This accessibility statement has been drawn up by the communication department of the NISSE.
