Homeworking in the EU

The increased use of homeworking due to the coronavirus is not taken into account when determining the applicable social security law in the European Union. This period was neutralised from 13 March 2020 up to and including 30 June 2022.
From 1st July up to and including 31 December 2022, there will be an exceptional transition period with the same effect. It only applies to self-employed workers who work from home in their state of residence for their client based in another EU Member state. This transition period applies to both existing and new homework activities. There are no specific formalities required.
